Just hangin' out
Last night after we put Aidan and Cecelia to bed, Isla wanted to actually be awake and hang out. So I laid her on a blanket and let her kick and look around while watching the red carpet for the Oscars... (here's an outfit Steph!)

About a minute and a half later I look down and this is what I see. Just that fast, just that easy.
I LOVE HER!

This was a nap on Saturday. Mark grabbed the camera because she had pulled herself into a ball and it was so cute. What you can't tell is that this is in the living room and there's a circus of kids and dogs running and screaming all around her.

Holy Fabric Batman!
My Favorite local shop is celebrating 35 years. This translates into sales and free stuff!!! It's like Christmas all over again! I got a ton of new fabric! As usual, I have no idea what I'm going to do with any of it but I seem to work well like this. I get a bunch of fabric together and then somewhere along the way, it turns into a cool blanket. I like it! Okay, so here's the run down of my newest editions to the stash. (This of course does not include the packages of fabric I've been finding and buying online for half off!)

A new jelly roll. I'm tempted to go back and get another one because I love the colors so much! Plus, it's named 'Swanky'! Seriously...

This was a kit for a quilt. I love the fabrics but not the pattern it came with. However for 75% off, I got it and will throw out the pattern and make something else with the fabric. You can't pass up 75% off! Or at least I can't...

Free books with patterns I'll look at, get ideas from, and then change to make my own.

Sale fabric that's a little more neutral. Maybe to be added to some fabric that's got some flare...

FREE fabric!!!

MORE FREE fabric!!!
So even though I have a new baby, don't think I've been neglecting my quilting. It goes a little slower but it's still going. I'm working on the dinosaur quilt still. I've got the main part all put together now and working on borders. Here's a shot of the center all done.

Then I looked at all of these little triangles left over from the fabric and I wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting anything so I figured I could put them together for some sort of border.

(Insert lots of swearing here) I thought a gradation of colors from lightest to darkest would be so cool looking. It is. The laying out of tiny triangles in gradation and then sewing all the tiny triangles together into a somewhat straight line.... not cool. Not cool at all! In fact, you could say it was a huge pain in the a**. Alas, the triangle boarder is finished! It's not attached yet but I just finished the triangles last night. I'm hoping to find a little quiet time today to put the dark blue boarder on and then the triangles.

Here's the boarder laid out around the center. There are four triangles sewn together for each color and I used all the fabric from the charm packs but 8 tiny triangles!
Clean, dressed and happy, all at the SAME TIME!!!

I'm so in love with them! Aren't they the cutest!!! They are amazing but in full disclosure, they were promised cookies if they smiled. Hey, it worked! Don't judge me!

I couldn't help but get this one because her eyes are so blue in it. I hope they stay that way!

Doctor's update:
Isla is growing! We went to the doctor's today and she's weighing in at 10 lbs 3 oz and 22.75 inches long! She's gained 18 oz and grew 1.25 inches in two weeks! That's my girl! Doctor also said that her clavicle is looking good and we don't have to pin it any more! That's good because she was really starting to get angry about that. And just to make you all a little more green with envy, here's another shot of my perfect baby asleep on daddy's lap. Seriously, could you get any cuter! Also, the grandparents were in town this weekend and somehow I brain-farted getting a single picture with them holding Isla. I'll have to fix that next time we see them.

Here's a picture of Cecelia showing off all her missing teeth. Two more are loose and I'm hoping she doesn't loose them too fast because eating is going to become a little more challenging. She's already having issues! The Tooth fairy is really racking up those frequent flier miles with visits to our house!

How could you not love a face like this!?! He's so stinkin' cute!

Last week I opened our front window blinds to see these balloons. No note or card or sign of who dropped them off. So, to our mystery balloon person, Thanks! We love them and Cecelia and Aidan are really impressed. I think it's kind of fun trying to figure out who sent them. So far no one's owned up to doing it. I have fabulous friends and family! I love you all!

Hospital Shots...
Cecelia and Aidan's hospital pictures did not look like this! The hospital has definitely upgraded photographers! These are the ones we bought but all the shots they took looked awesome. Can you believe Isla is only a day old here...

Just a quick update...
I picked up Isla's hospital pictures yesterday but haven't gotten them scanned into the computer yet. I'll try to get those up today but I wanted to put up this picture I took yesterday morning. It's moments like this that I thank God we had more the one kid. How sweet is this!?!

Why I LOVE my burrito baby...
These are all shots of her sleeping on different days! What a beautiful baby sleeping all the time for me! Thanks Aunt Monica and Uncle Glenn for the bouncy seat! She loves it!

Isla was giving Cecelia some really cute smiles. I tried to catch one on film but this was as close as I got. Cecelia had a half day at school today and so it's a ladies day at the Ballentine house. Aidan and daddy are off at school.

This was the other day. I just thought it was cute.

My perfect baby!

I've been in baby bliss and too busy to post new pictures lately but I figure the phone calls are going to start if I didn't get something up soon. Here's Isla hanging out while mommy works on math homework on the computer. She's so nice to me! She's even got her days and nights figured out and sleeps for 3.5 hours at a time before waking me up to eat. I'm getting more and better sleep now than the last month and a half of my pregnancy. We also made it to our first doctor's appointment and Isla pasted with flying colors. Her clavicle is still healing but other than that she's growing and gaining weight like a pro. I realize this will be shocking that one of my babies would like to eat. Isla is up to 9lbs 1oz after just a week. That might have something to do with the fact that I've been trying to drown her in milk. The wonderful world of motherhood...
